If you are looking for some exciting summer camps right here in Friendswood, we are the spot for you!  We have a wide variety of camps  for your aspiring writers, scientists, and musicians!  Our classes for older students include creative writing, literature, science, and others. This page includes info on all the camps we have for students in grades 7 and older.  Private music lessons are also available.  


We have 10 weeks in our summer session, however, we don't have camps for older students every week.  We may add additional camps for this age group if we have requests.

 All Camps meet Mon-Fri unless stated otherwise.

Camps are offered at the following times:

MORNING SESSION: 9:30 am -1:00 pm $130

students attending our morning session should pack a lunch, we will eat lunch during class time.  

AFTERNOON SESSION:  1:00-4:00 pm $130

Before and After Care is Available


ART CLASSES:  Once a Week, $12 per class

If you'd like just a short class,we have art once a week for one hour. Students will explore a variety of materials and techniques. You can register for each individual class.

Times are as follows:

Mon 4:00-5:00: Grade K-2 Art Explorers

Tues 4:00-5:00: Grade 3-6 Adventures in Art

Wed 4:00-5:30: Teen Art! Ages 13+

Structure of Writing 

Grades 7-8:  9:30-1:00pm Jan 4-8

Grades 9-12: 1:00-4:00 pm Jan 4-8


Join guest instructor Katherine Yoerg for a one week writer's workshop. Students will explore the writing process as they craft one personal narrative, and one logically structured expository essay. Over the course of the week, students will learn how to brainstorm, draft, revise, and edit their writing. Great experience for writers at all levels, whether advanced or reluctant writers! Excellent practice for STAAR writing tests! Katherine is a faculty member at Lone Star College and has a Masters in Creative Writing. 

Creative Writing and Poetry

Grades 7-12 July 11-15 9:30-1:00



Join guest instructor Katherine Yoerg for a camp exploring writing, poetry, and creative thoughts and ideas. In this class students will create stories, narratives, and practice writing poetry in a variety of styles and forms. In a non-threatening atmosphere, students will explore concepts such as figurative language, descriptive detail, and sound repetition. Sensory stimulus activities will encourage students to write with vivid detail and experiment with unfamiliar words and phrases.  Katherine is a faculty member at Lone Star College and has a Masters in Creative Writing. 


Intro to Sewing: Grades 7-12 9:30-1:00 June 11-15

More Sewing Fun: Grades 7-12 1:00-4:00 June 18-22


In this class students will learn the basics of sewing and how to use a sewing machine.  In the first class, we will create a pair of pajama pants as well as a bag.  In the second class, students will continue with the concepts they have learned and create a pair of shorts and other clothing items  We'll also look at a variety of hand sewing techniques All supplies provided, however students must bring their own sewing machine.
