This is a great option to get your child out of the house and having some fun on Tuesdays! Class meets from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm and cost is $45 per day. You can register for the full 8 week session or just a single day here and there. Each week will be a little different as students explore a variety of fun crafts and activities and enjoy hanging out with their friends. We'll rotate through 4 or 5 activities each week! Classes are divided into small groups based on age/grade level - 4th/5th, 6th/7th, and 8-12.
Here are some of the topics we will cover weekly in our class!
Aquatic Science and Aquaponics- students will care for our fish tanks and learn about making and maintaining an aquaponics system. We'll also catch some crawfish and tadpoles and other animals that can be found on our property using nets.
Art Explorers: We'll do some fun projects this summer including outdoor sculptures, paper making, tie dying, and more! There will be art every week.
Spanish Fun! We'll keep our Spanish skills fresh and also explore culture and crafts from Mexico and South/Central America
Sign Language: Learn basic conversational skills and play games learning to speak using American Sign Language
Animal Encounters: Students will get to feed and care for our animals including snakes, lizards, rats, and insects.
Science Explorers- Students will explore a variety of science activities including chemistry, astronomy, biology and geology through experiments and hands on activities
AQUAPONICS AND AQUATIC SCIENCE
Tues 2:00-4:00 pm $20 per class
GRADES 6 - 12
In this class, students will learn to build and maintain an aquaponics system, while they learn about the creatures in the ocean and in our lakes and streams. We'll also learn about the nitrate cycle and water chemistry. We'll test the water in our aquariums and learn how to maintain a fish tank. Children will also get to see and interact with real fish, aquatic turtles, frogs, and insects in one of our many aquariums and our aquaponics system. We'll fish in our creek and learn about casting nets, and see the creatures that can be found there such as crawfish and tadpoles. (pictured- one of our African Clawed Frogs, Bao Bun)
Private Music Lessons
We offer private music lessons in a variety of instruments including piano and flute. Private lessons are $120 a month for a 30 min lesson once a week ($30/lesson) A free trial lesson is available.
