Marvelous Musical Theater

Join us as we have fun rehearsing and performing in a musical!

Ms. Sarah and Ms. Beth will be co-directing the musical this year.

This is a special 2-week camp that meets 9:30-3:30 Mon-Fri. July 31-Aug 7   for students ages 9-17.  Cost is $225 for the camp.

We welcome "Junior Performers"  ages 5-8, these students will perform in several of the larger musical numbers but will not be required to attend the full length of the camp. They will meet 1:00-2:00 pm only.  Cost for Junior Performers is $150 for the camp.

Tuition includes a professionally produced DVD of the performance.

Students will receive a script and a CD with the music.  STUDENTS WILL BE EXPECTED TO LISTEN TO THE CD AND REHEARSE THEIR PARTS OUTSIDE OF CLASS.  Show must be memorized after the 1st week of class.  A detailed rehearsal schedule will be given out after parts are assigned.

Children will have the opportunity to have a vocal solo if desired- but if your child prefers to sing with a group, that's OK too.   Both solo and group parts as well as non-singing parts are available in the musical.

Adapted for young performers, and with a score by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Mary Poppins), Honk! JR. is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score.  Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, Honk! JR. will treat your audiences to equal amounts of laughter and tears.

Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this out, despite his mother's protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat. Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be.

Performance Date for this show:

There will be 2 performances of the show on FRIDAY NIGHT and SATURDAY Aug 11 and 12th.

Tickets for the show are $10 for adults 18 and older and $5 for children.  Each performer will receive 4 complementary tickets to the show.

Children will need to purchase a solid colored t-shirt (such as those sold at Hobby Lobby or Michaels)  to wear in the show along with khaki colored pants or shorts.   Simple costume accessories will be provided.   A costume list with required shirt colors will be sent out after the show has been cast.  We do not believe that it  is necessary to have huge elaborate costumes as these can even distract from the children's performances.  We also do  not use  any sort of mask that covers the face and obscures expressions.
